Currently as part of the TELUS Public Sector team, Anthony Fernando manages more than $6 million in contracted technology services with municipalities in the Greater Toronto Area, while also seeking new business opportunities. His position builds on his previous business development roles in SaaS and IoT start-ups, as well his retail marketing agency, Branded Productions.

Anthony’s role at TELUS puts him at the forefront of municipal digital transformation. His exposure has given him a strong understanding of Telephony, Networking, Cybersecurity, Internet of Things, Mission Critical Communications for First Responders, Computer Vision, Intelligent Transportation Systems, as well as other emerging technologies being used by public sector organizations.

Anthony has also gained a strategic understanding of the public sector procurement process as a function of being the lead on the initial evaluation, RFP submissions, post-award contract negotiation and execution.

He loves local government and has made other contributions as a political staffer, public servant, political candidate, public affairs consultant, and technology entrepreneur.

Anthony earned a Hons. BA in Political Science from the University of Toronto, and a Masters of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Western Ontario. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is working to complete his Certified Economic Developer (Ec.D.) designation.

Anthony is a PADI Divemaster and has completed almost 150 open water scuba dives in seven countries. He also enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, playing golf, chess, and going on long hikes.
